I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. These warm temperatures make me think of spring instead of winter. But I do know that colder air will return and who knows … we just may have some snow eventually.

Now it’s on to the New Year, where we feast on hog jowls, collard greens and black eyed peas. Not at my house though; I’ll have barbecue (it’s still pig parts), green beans and crowder peas. Please pass the cornbread, I’m ready.

Christmas Eve brought loss to our Francisco community. Norma Nunn, wife of Alcury Nunn, passed away Dec. 24. She and Alcury had just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Please lift this family up in prayer.

We also pray for the family of Albert Baliles, who also passed away last week. His sister, Mary Ellen Hill, resides in the Collinstown community.

Mitchell Fain, formerly of Collinstown, also passed away last week.

Please keep all these precious families in your prayers.
